What knowledge becomes visible when drawing gives way to the hand?

The research treats Northern Thai vernacular joinery as material knowledge, not a catalogue of fixed details.

We worked through field documentation in San Pu Loei, mapping, shape grammars, recycled wood, hand tools, models, and full-scale construction.

Small assemblies test balance, friction, bearing, rotation, and sequence. Their irregularity records how the hand negotiates material rather than erasing it.
